Spotswood College is proud to be a leading school of modern and innovative learning.

We have a clear vision of a 21st Century learning environment where learning has a purpose, is planned with students and is pursued through relevant and authentic contexts.

This means students will have a personalised program of learning that meets their individual needs, strengths and passions.

Learning opportunities include a wide range of cultural, arts, sporting, community connect, socially conscious and entrepreneurial activities.

Code of Practice

Spotswood College has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. Copies of the Code are available from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website and can be found at: NZQA: The Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016

“Personalising learning calls for the system to be built around the learner, rather than the learner being required to fit with the system. This challenges us to think about how to deploy the resources for learning (teachers, time, spaces, technology) more flexibly to meet learners’ needs”

Teaching and Learning is a dynamic process here at Spotswood College. Teachers are encouraged and supported to carry out teaching in varied and dynamic ways, often outside of the classroom EOTC and even outside of the school gates.
